Joel Savary is a U.S. National and International figure skating coach based in Washington, D.C. He is also the founder of Diversify Ice Foundation, a non-profit aimed to diversify the sport of figure skating by cultivating skaters of color.
Joel is most noted for coaching his younger brother, Emmanuel Savary, who won the U.S. Jr. National Championships and several international competitions. Along with Emmanuel’s head coaches, Joel has helped to cultivate his brother to be a competitive Team USA athlete. Emmanuel is currently competing at the Senior Men’s Championship level.
Joel has performed around the world in numerous ice-skating shows, including Disney on Ice. Today, he coaches skaters of all ages and ability.
